Overview

Our IT teams design and build solutions to ensure high performance for all business sectors, from websites to data pipelines, AI, cybersecurity, Cloud, and e‑Marketing. This role is a senior position requiring significant experience and a deep understanding of data engineering within the GCP ecosystem. The GCP Architect is responsible for building and maintaining data pipelines and managing the entire data lifecycle with a strong emphasis on security and governance. The successful candidate will help shape the organization’s data strategy and deliver high‑quality data solutions.
Responsibilities
- Data pipeline architecture and development using GCP services (Dataflow, Cloud Composer, Cloud Functions, Cloud Run, BigQuery, Pub / Sub).
- Establishing and enforcing data governance policies, data quality standards, access control, and data lineage tracking; data cataloging and metadata management.
- Defining and implementing overall data architecture, including storage (BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Datastore), warehousing, and data lake strategies.
- Create and maintain optimal data pipeline architecture.
- Build and maintain data models; assemble large, complex data sets for functional and non‑functional requirements.
- Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements to automate and optimize data delivery and infrastructure scalability.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to agile teams, including code reviews, mentoring, and adherence to architectural principles and coding standards.
- Create clear architectural diagrams to communicate data flows to technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
- Promote best practices for coding, naming conventions, and design patterns.
- Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks in data pipelines and queries (e.g., BigQuery queries, slot management, and on‑demand slots).
- Collaborate with product and technical leads, GCP Architecture, and SRE teams.
- Design processes for bringing data into the GCP environment from various sources, including real‑time streaming and batch uploads.
- ETL design and management, including data cleansing, transformation, and loading into data warehouses or data lakes.
- Understand data sharing mechanisms, access control, and API development for distributing data to internal and external consumers.
- Implement authentication and authorization mechanisms, manage user roles and permissions, and ensure data privacy compliance.
Qualifications
7+ years of experience in product and / or data architecture or data engineering with a proven track record of designing, building, and maintaining complex data pipelines. Experience with ETL tools is essential.Bachelor’s Degree or higher in STEM (e.g., Computer Science, Information Management, Big Data & Analytics) or equivalent work experience.Extensive experience with GCP data and analytics services (BigQuery, Dataflow, Cloud Storage, Pub / Sub, Cloud Functions, BigQuery SQL, Cloud Run, Cloud Composer, Workflows).Strong understanding of data governance, data modeling, and data warehousing.Experience leading and mentoring agile teams; strong communication and collaboration skills.Proficiency in optimizing BigQuery queries and managing slot resources.Ability to create clear architectural diagrams; familiarity with architectural patterns is a plus.Experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).Certifications such as GCP Professional Data Engineer and GCP Professional Cloud Architect are highly desirable.Business Intelligence And Domain Expertise
Background in CPG / Retail or eCommerce with understanding of KPIs (e.g., sales growth, market share, customer lifetime value).Experience working with business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical specifications for BI solutions.Collaborate with business analysts to identify data sources and ensure data quality for reporting and analysis.Contribute to BI strategies and roadmaps and help shape BI development.Don’t meet every single requirement?
