A Groups and Events Manager is responsible for overseeing the Sales Coordinators and the Groups Coordinator working with the Hotel to achieve pre‐established goals and maximizing sales results for Hotel Groups and Events.
What will I be doing?
- Supervise the Sales Coordinators' work to deliver our standard services to customers and achieve our financial goal.
- Visit the customer with the Sales Manager to guarantee the success of the biggest groups and events.
- Get involved with the negotiations for groups and events to maximize the results.
- Coordinate the "function meeting" with the vital information about the groups and events that will happen in the next 10 days.
- Be responsible for the weekly communication meeting with the coordinators.
- Know and promote the hotel facilities and be aware of our competitors' strengths and weaknesses.
- Organize the hotel's visits and attend unexpected requests.
- Serve as the contact between the client and the hotel staff when necessary.
- Work collaboratively with the Sales Managers and Revenue Management to ensure the entire sales process is completed and up‐to‐date.
- Update daily the sales activities on the hotel's systems, ensuring accurate and consistent information for the Groups Report.
- Review rates, groups, deadlines, and waiting lists.
- Review commission reports for groups, events, and Food & Beverage.
- Participate in special activities, such as secretaries cocktails and welcome dinners for groups.
- Ensure that all requests are answered within 24 hours.
- Keep yourself informed about clients and engage relationships with them.
- Maintain a positive work environment and communication within the department and with other departments to ensure compliance with brand standards and customer satisfaction.
- Adapt to changes in operation needs according to the hotel's priorities.
- Promote the hotel's activities and events.
What are we looking for?
Complete Graduate Degree or MBA in Management, Hospitality or Marketing.Fluent in English; a second language is desirable.Previous sales and events / banquets experience, preferably in a hotel, and leadership / supervision of teams.Critical analysis skills to strategically evaluate sales performance.Ability to manage multiple tasks and stressful situations while promoting a constructive attitude.Knowledge of product and marketing, including operations and structure of the hotel, and supervision / organization of team members.Ability to solve problems quickly and efficiently.Sense of organization and planning.Good written and verbal communication.What will it be like to work for Hilton?
