General Description :
The Finance Manager for Mexico will serve as a key finance business partner to the Mexico General Manager and functional leads, with responsibility for overseeing all core finance operations including Order to Cash (O2C) and Record to Pay (R2P) processes. The role will coordinate closely with the Accounting team and manage external and internal stakeholders for payroll, accounting, tax, etc., ensuring compliance with IFRS, local GAAP, and company financial control policies. This position plays a critical role in maintaining the integrity of financial reporting, driving process improvements, and supporting both operational and strategic decision-making.
The Finance Manager will operate in a dynamic environment, balancing hands-on execution with the development of efficient financial processes and controls. The role requires strong collaboration skills, the ability to recommend and implement solutions to business, process, and technical issues, and a proactive mindset to improve accuracy and efficiency across finance operations. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, organized, and results-driven, with the ability to influence stakeholders, ensure compliance, and support the company’s growth objectives in Mexico.
Responsibilities
Essential Functions :
- Key finance business partner for Mexico General Manager and functional leads.
- Recommend solutions for business / process / technical / analytical issues that arise to improve accuracy and efficiency.
- Participate in the development and establishment of accounting policies and procedures and operational strategies, including the review and implementation of process and system changes.
- Lead financial processes of Mexico operations (O2C, P2P) as follows :
Order to Cash Process (O2C) and related activities :
Invoice Process – oversight and control : monitor end-to-end invoicing process executed by the 3PL in Mexico; validate accuracy of sales invoices and supporting documentation; perform periodic reconciliations; ensure timely issuance of credit / debit notes.Accounting Coordination with Accounting team : liaise to ensure proper and timely recording of O2C transactions; review and approve monthly journal entries; support monthly close; maintain documented process of financial controls.Receivables Monitoring : track AR aging and coordinate with stakeholders for collections; analyze overdue balances and propose provisions; support cash application and allocation accuracy.Internal Controls & Compliance : perform regular controls over billing and receivables data.Process Improvement & Reporting : identify and implement improvements in the O2C process; develop dashboards and KPIs; prepare monthly O2C reports.Record to Pay (R2P) :
Invoice Processing and Accounting Coordination : receive and organize supplier invoices; verify accuracy and completeness; monitor timely recording; resolve discrepancies with internal teams and suppliers.PO Follow-Up and Controls : maintain open PO log; escalate inconsistencies or delays in PO / invoice matching.Payment Process Planning and Execution : develop payment calendar; coordinate with external accounting firm for payments; monitor payments and ensure controls; respond to vendor queries.Controls and Compliance : ensure R2P activities follow internal policies and regulations; review AP ledger for completeness and aging.Reporting and Continuous Improvement : produce AP aging and payment reports; identify improvements; support automation initiatives.T&E Expenses Reimbursement Process :
Expenses Forms Review and Policy Compliance : validate expense reports; ensure compliance with T&E policy and documentation.Record and Payment Coordination : submit validated expenses for posting; ensure correct cost centers; share reimbursement schedules.Controls and Risk Management : maintain audit trail; escalate exceptions; ensure policy application.Reporting and Process Improvement : monthly reports on total expenses reimbursed, policy breaches, and delays; propose policy / workflow updates; participate in system upgrades if applicable.Qualifications
Minimum Requirements – Education and Experience :
Bachelors Degree with a minimum of 5 years' experience in multinational environments or a Masters Degree with a minimum of 4 years in multinational environments.Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related field required.Master’s degree (MBA or equivalent) preferred.Previous experience in the Pharmaceutical, Biotech, or Healthcare sector strongly preferred.Other Experience :
Solid knowledge of local accounting, tax, and regulatory frameworks with exposure to global corporate standards.English and Spanish fluent is mandatory.Ability to thrive in a non-structured, dynamic and fast-paced international environment; flexibility, team orientation, collaborative work style and a positive can-do attitude.Ability to complete tasks with high accuracy using strong analytical and organizational skills.Strong sense of accountability and ownership.Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with multiple functions and teams.Effective communication skills (verbal and written) for daily interaction with senior management in-country and with global corporate functions.Excellent technical and analytical skills in finance, financial analysis, and budgeting.Supervisory Responsibilities : N / A
Travel : Ability to travel within Mexico and the US.
Computer Skills : SAP experience; TM1 experience; Think Cell; Advanced Excel and Power Point.
