Overview
The Regional Logistics Manager is the subject matter expert accountable for leading the regional logistics operations across multiple business units and facilities; with the objective of developing, deploying, driving and maintaining an optimized inbound & outbound logistics network. The incumbent will be accountable for creating timely & cost effective crossdock, warehousing and shipping methods as part of the global logistics team. Additional focus would include cost & network optimization, managing effective working relationships with regional third party logistics (3PL) services and daily oversight of the 3PL operational performance. This role demands a high level of interaction with both internal and external stakeholders and must be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Responsible for sourcing regional warehouse solutions in combination with the operations team.
- Additionally responsible to support the transportation sourcing events within the region and assist in driving the performance management.
- Drive implementations of network changes including coordination with other functional groups including site operations.
- Provides regional updates to the finance team to assist in the monitoring of financial results for the region.
- Staff the functional area of responsibility to meet divisional objectives.
- Establish & communicate expectations of each position in terms of mission & goals.
- Identify individual & team strengths & development needs on an ongoing basis.
- Create & / or validate training curriculum in functional area of responsibility.
- Coach & mentor team members to deliver excellence to every customer.
- Assist with creation and management of succession plans.
- Establish clear measurable goals & objectives to determine individual & team results (e.g., SCM metrics, knowledge of operational roles & responsibilities, personal development goals).
- Solicit ongoing feedback from Business Unit Management, Commodity Management, Materials Management, Development Engineering, Quality Assurance, peers & team on contributions.
- Influence and assist in performing team member performance evaluations.
- Drive individuals and team to continuously improve key strategic metrics and achievement of divisional goals and objectives.
- Influence and assist with ensuring employee recognition and rewards are managed fairly and consistently.
- Provide a communication forum for the exchange of ideas and information.
- Know and understand both the corporation’s and division’s strategic logistics direction.
- Analyze customers' and sites' needs and develop appropriate logistics strategy aligned with organizational and divisional goals.
- Identify creative ways to reduce cost by streamlining processes and systems (e.g., modification of responsibilities, elimination of non-value-added processes or complete reengineering of processes and systems).
- Define, develop and make effective use of cost analysis and risk mitigation tools.
- Provide feedback to staff on cost and cost trends.
- Develop senior level supply base relationships in region to assist sites in adhering to the global logistics strategy while covering their operational requirements.
- Adhere to safety and health rules and regulations and company security policy.

Knowledge Requirements
Quantitative analysis skills; including experience using modeling and optimization tools, network modeling, and change management.High energy leader with proven managerial skills; proactive in attacking challenges in achieving stretch goals through leading and motivating others.Ability to provide conceptual leadership and convert ideas into practical and effective implementation plans.Proven hands-on experience with MS Excel; with exceptional data handling skills. 7-10 years progressive supply chain management / procurement experience; with five or more years focused on transportation management, logistics, 3PL warehousing, inventory strategies & practices, implementation & operations processes.
