Responsibilities
The Sales Manager is a fully competent individual who has experience in the sales process and function of a hotel. Responsibilities include selling guest rooms, meeting space and other Hyatt services to customer groups, managing accounts, and conducting site inspections, solicits and generates business. Duties also include preparing and presenting effective proposals, maintaining well organized documentation and reports, utilizes Hyatt systems and coordinates customer service requirements as appropriate. The Sales Manager will also participate and may lead event meetings, sales and other staff meetings. The Sales Manager also works as a team member with the sales and catering staff to in close contact with assigned Administrative Assistant and other support staff.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a Leisure Sales role within the luxury hospitality segment - luxury resort experience preferred (minimum 3 years).
- Remote candidates will be considered if aligned with key feeder markets and luxury experience.
- Drive and implement leisure sales strategies to grow revenue across transient and group segments.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with leisure travel partners, key accounts, and luxury consortia (RFP management).
- Prospect, negotiate, and contract new leisure transient accounts to expand the client base Represent the hotel at trade shows, FAM trips, roadshows, and sales missions to strengthen brand presence.
- Partner with marketing and revenue teams to design leisure packages and seasonal promotions that drive demand.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with reservations, operations, and revenue management to ensure a seamless guest experience.
- Identify new business opportunities through market trends and competitor analysis, with strong knowledge of the Mexican and international markets.
- Leverage sales platforms and market intelligence tools to manage client portfolios and monitor performance.
- Undertake strategic sales trips within designated territories as outlined in the annual marketing plan.
- Ensure timely and accurate updates to internal systems for reporting and decision-making
- Strong communication, negotiation, and influencing skills with a track record of driving revenue growth.
- Experience with seasonality and Caribbean or Mexican resorts preferred
- Demonstrated success in dynamic, high-demand luxury hospitality markets.
- Professional, adaptable, and client-focused approach to relationship management.
- Bilingual - Spanish and English
