Supplier Quality Engineer

The Supplier Quality organization has an opening for a Supplier Quality Engineer within the Body Exterior, Sealing and Vision Systems organization.

Responsibilities of this position could include but are not limited to responsibility for molded fascia's, front end modules, plastic liftgate assemblies, fuel filler / charge port doors, compression molded decorative roof tops / panels, functional plastic parts, moldings, etc.

Actual commodities within this selection will be determined based on interests and needs.This position will require strong interface at all levels of the Corporation and direct interface with the production assembly plant.

The SQE position will assist their respective supply base to assure processes and quality of parts produced meet and exceed all expectations.

The role will have direct involvement with the full life cycle of components from early development, sourcing, launch phase, and into production.The SQE will assume cross functional development with engineering, purchasing and the supplier to reduce warranty costs and achieve continuous improvement.

Also included will be cross functional work with Engineering and Purchasing on items such as Commodity Strategies for components under his / her scope of responsibility.As an SQE your role is accountable to ensure all supplied parts are robust, repeatable and conform to dimensional and performance requirements.

Responsibilities of the SQE team also include providing on-site support at Stellantis assembly plants as required, working cross functionally with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Purchasing to ensure proper designs, suppliers, and manufacturing processes are selected, driving change within both plant manufacturing and component suppliers to resolve component issues, drive warranty reduction, and oversee continuous improvement efforts.

As a truly global company much work will involve collaboration with colleagues across all regions of the globe.Basic QualificationsBachelor of Science Degree or higher in Engineering from an ABET accredited programMinimum 5 years of work experience in Quality, Engineering, Manufacturing or related fieldAbility to travel within North America (20-30%) and internationally as requiredProficient in using Microsoft Office Suite SoftwareSelf-starter, highly motivated and good communication skillsPreferred QualificationsProven Problem-solving skills and tools (e.g. Green Belt / Black Belt)Technical experience with injection molding, compression molding, extrusions and / or sealingStrong conflict resolution skillsEffective written and verbal communication skillsAt Stellantis, we assess candidates based on qualifications, merit and business needs.
