Overview
Trinity Industries, MX is searching for a talented team player to fill the open role of Legal and Compliance Manager in our Mexico City, MX Corporate office . This role will lead our Legal and Compliance team in Mexico, which includes several attorneys and three compliance professionals. The Legal and Compliance Manager will oversee legal and regulatory matters, provide strategic guidance to internal clients, and ensure regulatory compliance, including with labor, employment, and corporate regulations. This role is critical in supporting our Operations and HR teams and will serve as a key liaison between Trinity’s Mexico operations and our U.S.-based legal leadership.

Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of attorneys and compliance professionals, setting priorities and ensuring high-quality legal support and guidance
- Provide legal advice to Trinity’s Operations and HR teams on labor, employment, and regulatory matters
- Review, draft, revise, and negotiate contracts with vendors, contractors, and consultants
- Oversee vendor due diligence and compliance screening processes
- Coordinate litigation matters in civil, labor, and commercial areas with external law firms
- Attend inspections and interface with labor and social security authorities
- Ensure alignment with government agencies and regulatory bodies
- Guide EHS and HR teams on legal and compliance topics, including workplace safety and investigations
- Deliver training on legal topics such as labor law, anti-harassment, and compliance
- Monitor and enforce Trinity’s internal policies, including labor and anti-harassment programs for employees and business partners
- Prepare reports, summaries, and documentation for legal management and executive leadership
- Manage relationships with external law firms and notary publics
- Collaborate with U.S.-based legal and compliance teams to ensure cross-border alignment and success
Qualifications
Proven ability to lead teams and interact effectively with internal clients at all levelsLaw degree (Licenciatura en Derecho) from an accredited universityMinimum 10 years of legal experience, including leadership roles in corporate legal departments, compliance programs, or law firmsStrong background in labor / employment law, corporate compliance, and regulatory mattersStrong knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and industry standardsProven experience in project management and leading strategic initiativesExcellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skillsAbility to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environmentHigh ethical standards and a commitment to promoting a culture of integrityExperience managing litigation and working with external counselPrior experience supporting U.S.-based companies operating in Mexico is highly desirableBilingual in Spanish and English (written and spoken)Ability to travel to our MX plant locations and US headquarters#J-18808-Ljbffr
