We’re excited to be seeking a Senior Digital Marketing Strategist to support one of our clients in expanding their digital presence and enhancing their web and brand platforms.
Role Summary
We are seeking a hands-on, growth-oriented Senior Digital Marketing Strategist who will drive digital strategy and execution across multiple channels for our retail clients (and / or our own retail business). This role combines strategic thinking with day-to-day implementation : from SEO and website optimization (especially on platforms like Shopify) to email campaigns, social media (including short-form video like TikTok), brand creation and building memorable experiences that deepen client engagement and expand retail presence.
You’ll partner with cross-functional teams (e-commerce / operations / creative) and work directly with clients (if in an agency model) or internal stakeholders (if in-house) to expand our retail footprint, build brand equity and drive measurable digital growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a comprehensive digital marketing strategy aligned with retail growth objectives, brand expansion and customer experience goals.
- Own SEO strategy (on-page, technical, content, link building) to drive organic traffic and conversions.
- Lead website optimization and e-commerce experience (especially on platforms like Shopify) including site architecture, UX, conversion rate optimization, merchandising and content.
- Plan, create and execute email marketing programs (newsletters, automated flows, retargeting, segmentation) to drive engagement, sales and loyalty.
- Architect and manage social media strategy across channels (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Pinterest, etc) including paid social, organic content, influencer partnerships and short-form video production for platforms like TikTok.
- Drive brand creation and growth : develop brand positioning, messaging frameworks, visual direction, campaign concepts and build brand presence and experience for retail clients (or your own brand).
- Design and execute retail-client experience initiatives (in-store + online integration, digital-first experiences, immersive campaigns, loyalty / CRM tie-ins) that deepen customer connection and expand reach.
- Monitor, analyze and report on key performance metrics (traffic, conversions, AOV, retention, ROI) and use insights to optimize campaigns, website experience and brand activations.
- Stay on top of industry trends (retail, e-commerce, social media, video content, emerging platforms) and proactively propose new ideas, channels or technologies to stay ahead of competition.
- Collaborate with creative, operations, merchandising, analytics and external agencies or vendors to deliver on strategic initiatives.
- Mentor and guide more junior team members (if applicable), share best practices and help build out digital marketing capability.
Qualifications & Experience
Must-haves :
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business or related field (or equivalent experience).5+ (or 7+) years of progressive digital marketing experience—ideally in retail, e-commerce or agency environments.Hands-on experience with Shopify (or equivalent e-commerce platform) and optimizing storefronts, conversion funnels and online merchandising.Strong SEO expertise (technical SEO, content strategy, backlinking, performance measurement).Demonstrated success in email marketing : segmentation, automation, flows, analytics.Social media experience—organic and paid—especially short-form video platforms like TikTok; experience building brand awareness, engagement and conversion via social.Solid analytics chops—comfortable with Google Analytics (or GA4), reporting dashboards, interpreting data and making recommendations.Strong creative and strategic mindset : ability to mix brand-building with performance marketing.Excellent project management, organizational, communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills; ability to manage multiple initiatives concurrently.Ability to work cross-functionally, influence stakeholders and execute both strategy and tactical deliverables.Nice-to-haves :
Experience working with retail clients (multi-store, omni-channel) or building retail brand experiences.Experience with video production or partnering with video content creators / influencers.Familiarity with CRM platforms (e.g., Klaviyo, Salesforce Marketing Cloud) and marketing automation.Experience with paid media (PPC, display, social ads) and managing budgets.Exposure to experimentation frameworks (A / B testing, conversion optimisation).Certifications in Google Analytics, Google Ads, Facebook Blueprint, etc.Key Competencies
