We’re looking for a Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to play a crucial role in shaping the future of quality engineering for our rapidly-growing global platform. As a Sr. SDET, you’ll be a technical leader, driving architectural guidance, quality tooling modernization, and automated test strategies that empower teams to deliver delightful, reliable experiences to hundreds of millions of pinners worldwide.

What You’ll Do

• Architect, design, and implement robust, scalable, and maintainable automation frameworks and tooling that power reliable testing across diverse Pinterest surfaces (web, mobile, API, backend, and ML / AI pipelines).
• Drive cross-functional quality initiatives and set standards for testability, automation, and engineering excellence—partnering with product, engineering, and platform teams to institutionalize best practices and champion a “quality as code” mindset.
• Modernize test platforms and quality infrastructure, leading investments in next-generation CI / CD, test automation, flakiness reduction, and developer productivity.
• Proactively identify gaps in quality posture, leading cross-team projects to close those gaps and improve shipping velocity without compromising reliability.
• Mentor and educate engineers in advanced automation concepts, test architecture decisions, and clean code / testing principles—raising the quality bar for all.
• Lead efforts in test strategy, planning, and execution for high-impact, cross-team projects, balancing company-level priorities and ensuring solutions are scalable.
• Influence and drive adoption of metrics and dashboards for engineering quality, test health, and release readiness to inform decision making and accelerate continuous improvement.
