Job Description
1. Supplier Development & Evaluation
- Identify, screen, and evaluate potential suppliers in Mexico and the Latin American region, with a focus on key components such as motors, bearings, housings, and electronic control units.
- Lead supplier audits (technical, quality, capacity, ESG, etc.) and establish a qualified supplier list.
2. Cost & Contract Management
Lead price negotiations and drive annual cost reduction initiatives (e.g., VA / VE, localization alternatives) to ensure cost competitiveness.Develop supplier cooperation agreements and manage contract execution and risks.3. Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with R&D, quality, and production teams to advance PPAP approvals and support ramp-up for new suppliers.Collaborate with SQE to resolve supplier quality issues (such as 8D reports, claim processes, etc.).4. Supply Chain Strategy
Develop Mexico localization procurement strategies to reduce reliance on single-source supply chains and enhance supply chain resilience.Monitor market trends (e.g., raw material prices, trade policies) and adjust sourcing plans in a timely manner.Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or above in Engineering (Mechanical / Electrical / Automotive Engineering, etc.) or Supply Chain Management.5+ years of supplier development experience in the automotive industry , with preference for experience in electric compressors, motors, or thermal management systems.Strong expertise in full lifecycle supplier management (sourcing, negotiation, performance evaluation, exit mechanisms).Familiarity with automotive industry standards such as IATF 16949 and VDA 6.3, with hands-on APQP / PPAP experience.Fluent in both English and Spanish (written and spoken), capable of cross-cultural communication.Preferred Qualifications
Experience in collaborating with China / Asia supply chains (integration of Mexico localization + Asian resources).Familiarity with the industrial landscape of Mexico and Latin America (e.g., northern manufacturing clusters, free trade zone policies).
