Location : Remote (must be able to work Eastern Time, Monday–Friday, 9 : 00 AM–6 : 00 PM ET)

Compensation : Top-of-market salary with significant room for growth; commensurate with experience.

About The Role

We’re one of the fastest-growing proptech companies in the U.S., backed by top-tier VCs and some of the largest landlords and operators in the country.

This position could be called a few different things — Senior Accountant, Controller, or Finance Lead — but in essence, it’s a full-stack Finance and Operations role that spans all facets of financial reporting, controls, systems, and company operations.

We’re looking for someone early enough in their career to handle the day-to-day accounting and operational work, but with the capacity to grow quickly into senior leadership.

Major bonus points for interest in working with our AI and Claims Management teams to automate 90% of the finance function and build a modern, technology-enabled finance org.

What You'll Do

Financial Management

  • Manage Gusto HR setup and payroll reconciliations
  • Oversee Gusto payroll processing and ensure accuracy in withholdings, benefits, and reporting
  • Handle company bookkeeping — track receipts, categorize expenses, and reconcile monthly statements
  • Manage invoice payouts and accounts payable
  • Oversee vendor and contract management, including internal subscription tracking (renewals, ownership, logins, and cancellations)
  • Support entity management, maintaining records and compliance documentation

Claims Administration

  • Review claims and supporting documentation (ledgers, invoices, photos / videos)
  • Prepare draft claim binders for the claims team to review
  • Communicate with site teams to clarify and resolve claim details
  • Company Operations & Admin

  • Coordinate event and conference registrations (booking, logistics, and payments)
  • Build and maintain Excel / Google Sheets dashboards and trackers
  • Identify process gaps and implement scalable systems
  • Partner with AI and Claims teams to automate 90% of recurring finance workflows
  • Support ad-hoc company operations and administrative tasks as needed
  • Who You Are

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 4–5+ years of experience in accounting or finance operations
  • Background at an institutional accounting firm or Big 4 / top-tier consulting accounting environment
  • Excel whiz — you live in spreadsheets and know your formulas cold
  • Detail-driven, proactive, and ridiculously organized
  • Communicates clearly and professionally (written and spoken English)
  • Tech-savvy — comfortable with Gusto, QuickBooks, and modern ops tools
  • Bonus Points

  • Experience in early-stage or high-growth startups (in addition to institutional accounting background)
  • Background in multifamily accounting or real estate is a huge plus
  • Interest in AI tools and workflow automation
