GENERAL FUNCTION
The Communications Manager is a part of the North America corporate communications team and is responsible for developing and executing internal communication strategies for the Mexico region, with a particular focus on the operations footprint in Chihuahua and Tijuana.
Based in Chihuahua, the Communications Manager will develop engaging content using various written, live and digital channels to support EssilorLuxottica’s culture of engagement. Reporting into the Director of Internal Communications based in Dallas, TX, the ideal candidate will operate with a high level of trust and autonomy, navigating cultural nuances while maintaining tight alignment with North America leadership. Fluency in both Spanish and English is essential to build trust, influence stakeholders and ensure messages land responsibly across borders.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develops and executes communication plans to support key business strategies.
- Counsels cross functional business partners to ensure program plans, messages and go-to-market strategies are on-brand and locally relevant.
- Produces day-to-day and operational communications enabling business results, prioritizing content for maximum impact.
- Masters brand tone of voice and applies it consistently in both Spanish and English.
- Benchmarks best practices, challenges processes and recommends new approaches where appropriate.
- Deploys communications across multiple channels, coordinating with the broader communications team to effectively reach all impacted employees.
- Oversees internal and external vendors on relevant projects.
- Cultivates trust-based relationships with Mexico site leadership and HR teams.
- Provides rapid, culturally sensitive counsel during crisis and change events.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelors degree with 5+ years relevant experienceFull professional fluency in Spanish and English – spoken, written and read.Experience with PowerPoint and the full Microsoft 365 suite.Excellent writing and editing skills, including knowledge of AP styleStrong project management skills, particularly with competing priorities; proven ability to plan, develop & deliver multi-channel content.Ability to simplify complex messages into easily understood, engaging contentComfortable working in cross-functional teams and programsCredible communicator with ability to foster peer relationships and build trust quickly.Excellent presentation skillsAvailability to travel within Mexico and occasionally to the U.S.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
