Responsibilities

• Body D&R Engineer responsibilities include engineering, design, development, timing and production release for components and systems such as Body-in-White, Body closures, exterior systems, fascia / bumper, underbody shield, wheel liners, cladding & flares, body exterior moldings, badges, decals and vents, front lighting, EE & signal lighting, fixed glass, wipers, fuel door, and related systems from initial design concept through full volume production.
• Interface and coordinate packaging with Product Design Office, vehicle development, Exterior and Body Engineering teams, adjacent departments (electromechanical, electrical, lighting, trim), and suppliers to design, develop and release components / systems.
• Provide feasibility input for development of designs from Product Design Office concepts, sketches, and clay models.
• Lead quality improvements, weight reduction, cost reduction and other efficiency initiatives, including communicating technical product status to management.
• Develop functional objectives, build objectives, DVP&R, DFMEA and manage production suppliers to meet all requirements. Responsible for the release of completed geometry using NX, Teamcenter CAD tools.
