Sox Subject Matter Expert

Job Description for SOX SMEPosition OverviewThe SOX Subject Matter Expert (SME) will be responsible for ensuring compliance with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act across financial reporting and internal controls.

This role involves working closely with finance, audit, and IT teams to assess, design, and implement effective controls, and to support SOX compliance initiatives.Key ResponsibilitiesLead and manage SOX compliance initiatives across the organization.Develop and maintain documentation for key controls and processes.Coordinate with internal and external auditors for SOX testing and walkthroughs.Identify control gaps and recommend remediation plans.Provide guidance and training to process owners on SOX requirements.Monitor changes in regulatory requirements and assess their impact on internal controls.Support the implementation of automated controls and continuous monitoring tools.QualificationsEducation and ExperienceBachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.CPA, CIA, or CISA certification preferred.5+ years of experience in SOX compliance, internal audit, or related field.Strong understanding of COSO framework and internal control principles.Experience with ERP systems and GRC tools.Excellent communication and project management skills.
