Responsibilities :
A Major Incident Manager requires a blend of strong technical knowledge of IT systems, process expertise (like ITIL), excellent communication and leadership skills, analytical abilities , and the capacity to handle high-pressure situations and make quick decisions.
Key basic technical skills include
Understanding network protocols (DNS, TCP / IP)
Operating systems (Windows, Linux, zOS)
Applications : Zoom, ServiceNow and Microsoft
Mainframe Framework
Dashboard understanding (Grafana and ServiceNow)
Technical Skills & Knowledge
IT Systems & Infrastructure :
Basic knowledge of network protocols (DNS, TCP / IP), operating systems (Windows, Linux), and common IT infrastructure.
ITIL Framework :
Proficiency in ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) is crucial for understanding incident management best practices and frameworks.
Monitoring Tools :
Experience with IT service management software, such as Grafana, is highly valuable.
Security Concepts :
Expertise in security principles, including encryption, firewalls, and threat modeling, is often required
