Regional Quality Director Job Description
The Regional Quality Director plays a crucial role in overseeing all aspects of quality performance within the North America region. This includes managing customer and supplier interactions, as well as supervising site quality leaders and their respective performances.
Main Responsibilities :
- Quality Performance Management : The Regional Quality Director will be responsible for setting quality Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and goals for the region and its sites, ensuring these objectives are met through efficient incident and Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ) reduction strategies.
- Project Transfer and New Programs : This individual will ensure that project transfers and new programs are successful and follow established New Product Introduction (NPI) systems.
- Technical and QMS Leadership : The Regional Quality Director will provide technical and Quality Management System (QMS) leadership to improve product quality and other quality-related services within the organization.
- Problem Resolution : This individual will assist in resolving quality-related problems at the site level, including management of customer escalations.
- Team Management : The Regional Quality Director will manage the regional quality team, consisting of advance quality and customer quality professionals, as well as site quality managers.
- QA Resource Development : This individual will develop plans to strengthen QA resources and capabilities within the region.
- Audits and Compliance : Regular quality audits on systems, operations, and products will be conducted to ensure conformance to ISO / IATF Standards, internal specifications, and customer-specific requirements.
- Customer Needs Assessment : The Regional Quality Director will keep abreast of customer quality needs and develop plans to address these issues effectively.
- Corporate Initiatives : This individual will support corporate initiatives such as OEM readiness, Layered Process Audit, Kaizen event, A3 problem-solving, RFMEA, and others.
- Best Practices Sharing : The Regional Quality Director will share best practices across sites and build synergy to enhance overall quality performance.
- Training Needs Review : This individual will review quality training needs in the region and develop action plans to address these needs.
- Special Assignments : The Regional Quality Director may be assigned special projects by the Global Quality Vice President.
Requirements
15 years of manufacturing excellence / quality leadership experience in the automotive industry, preferably with connectors and mechatronic components.Experience working with Tier 1 or Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) required.Direct experience with IATF16949, core tools, and VDA quality requirements; VDA 6.3 QMC certification is a plus.Bachelor's degree, with preference in Engineering.Lean Manufacturing / Six Sigma Green Belt, Black Belt preferred.Effective organizational, prioritization, time management, and project management skills.Must be a self-starter with a strong drive for continuous improvement.Must possess strong motivation and team-building skills.Excellent oral / written English communication skills.Advanced computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.Extensive travel to Ennovi locations in Mexico, NJ, and RI.
