Job Summary :
The Sales Engineer will be responsible for managing the pre-sales technical process for our team in Latin America. You will primarily act as an evangelist and subject matter expert on the Company’s portfolio of advanced network video streaming, bonded cellular technology, media delivery and management platforms. You will demonstrate our technical solutions, present on our capabilities, and support both partners and direct customers throughout the Latin American market.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Serve as a technical evangelist, capable of demonstrating and explaining our products to both high-level decision makers and deep-dive technical staff.
- Own the technical design of the Company’s solutions proposed to partners and customers.
- Provide pre-sales technical / architectural support to partners and customers.
- Provide onsite and remote assistance with proof-of-concept engagements and post-sale support as necessary.
- Assist sales managers with overall account management within assigned accounts as well as project management for complex presales engagements.
- Complete technical sections for RFP / RFI / RFQ responses for assigned accounts.
- Remain knowledgeable and current with industry trends and technical developments that effect target markets, including competitive information.
- Establish long-term relationships with resellers, integrators, and rental partners.
- Attend and assist with the setup and operation of technical systems at regional training and tradeshows as necessary.
- Must be comfortable with up to 50% travel within Latin America.
- Perform additional related duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS :
3-5 years technical experience in computer software, IP video, encoding and decoding technology, bonded cellular technology, and / or advanced IP networking.Demonstrable customer engagement skills.Background in the broadcast media industry.Proficient communication and presentation skills with the ability to articulate the advantages of the Company’s products to business and technical decision makers, as well as senior executives.Self-motivated, with a proven ability to work on own initiative and excellent time management skills.A proven history of establishing and maintaining strong customer relationships.Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think outside of the box.Ability to work with a wide variety of individuals both internal and external, from senior executives to technical decision makers.Fluency in Spanish and English languagesTechnical Competencies
Our sales engineers interface with a wide range of technology. The successful candidate will have familiarity with one or more of the following :IP Video Streaming, encoding, decoding, and / or transcoding.Bonded cellular data transmissionLAN / WAN network topologies to include Content Delivery Networks (CDNs) or multicast network distribution.Experience with network and computing security standards and best practices in enterprise and broadcast applications.Firm understanding of video compression technologies such as MPEG-4 / H.264 and HEVC / H.265 and media transport protocols such as SRT, RTP, MPEG2-TS, HLS, ST-2110, and NDIFamiliarity with technical issues surrounding audio and video delivery over traditional broadcast networks and contribution methodologies, such as terrestrial microwave and satellite IP networks, desirable.Comfort working within the Linux command line and with scripting languages such as Python or JavaScript are a plus.ABOUT HAIVISION :
