Overview
The mechanical electrical and plumbing coordinator is responsible to analyze electromechanical and special installations verifying that they are fulfilled with the technical specifications of the project and Mexican legislation norms, elaborate and control reports and monitor the qualification of contractor craftsmen and recommend actions for improvement.
The MEP works with responsibilities corresponding to the pipe / mechanical disciplines and involves direct day-to-day monitoring of the work site.
Responsibilities
- Analyze electromechanical and special installations to ensure compliance with project specifications and Mexican norms; elaborate and control reports; monitor contractor craftsmen qualifications; and recommend actions for improvement.
- Coordinate pipe / mechanical disciplines and perform direct day-to-day on-site monitoring of the work.
Qualifications
Minimum of 5 years’ experience working as a Project Manager coordinating MEP design and construction on Industrial / Manufacturing / Hospitality projects.Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical and / or Mechanical EngineeringExperience with Electric, HVAC, Plumbing, Fire Protection and Automation SystemsCommissioning experience is requiredPMI certification is a plusExperience in LEED projects is a plusFluent in English and Spanish to be able to lead project team meetings, issue written communications, minutes and reports, lead client meetings.Knowledge of Microsoft Project and Primavera P6Microsoft Office toolsKnowledge of AutoCAD, BIMSkills and Qualifications
Capacity for analyses and evaluating construction drawings, technical specifications and scope of works on site, comparing project against Mexican standards (or international standards) and client standards.Knowledge of methodology to develop construction schedule and cost estimates to have input in WBS and cost and project reviews, and support value engineeringContribute to risk analysis and updating project risks matrixInterpretation, application, and implementation of safety standards and best practicesInstallation of process, electrical and mechanical equipmentPlant inspection of fabrication of piping and equipment, and installationCheckout, pre-commissioning and commissioning planning and executionWork planning, scheduling, and execution experienceFamiliarity and understanding of quality requirements to define and review quality plansAbility to plan and manage work for self and othersFacilitate and participate in design reviewsUnderstand the scopes of work / drawings / documents and clarify any doubts of the ContractorReview and evaluate contractor bids in bid levelingRegularly communicate with Client operations, where applicable, on day-to-day site activities to plan stoppages and interfaces with existing buildings and systemsAdditional Information
