The manufacturing tooling manager is responsible for overseeing the design, development, and maintenance of tooling used in the manufacturing process.
Key responsibilities include managing the design, development, and implementation of new tooling and fixtures, overseeing the maintenance and repair of existing tooling, collaborating with engineering and production teams to identify tooling needs, ensuring all tooling meets quality standards and specifications, developing and maintaining documentation for tooling designs, modifications, and maintenance procedures, implementing and monitoring tooling performance metrics to drive continuous improvement, managing tooling inventory and coordinating procurement of new tools and materials, training and mentoring team members on tooling best practices and safety procedures, ensuring compliance with all safety regulations and company policies, leading root cause analysis and corrective actions for tooling-related issues, and supporting lean manufacturing initiatives and contributing to cost reduction efforts
