Team Description

The Dropbox Engineering Team builds technology that supports hundreds of millions of users and handles over a billion files daily. We work with technologies including Python, React, Node.js, JavaScript, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, and Android. We pursue scalable, high-impact solutions at scale and partner across teams to solve complex problems.

Role Description

As a Software Engineer on Dropbox’s Information Technology Systems team, you will design, build, and scale foundational backend systems that support critical engineering initiatives. You will apply strong engineering fundamentals and modern SDLC practices to drive execution, reduce technical debt, and accelerate delivery. This role offers opportunities to deepen systems expertise while collaborating with seasoned engineers across Dropbox.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain engineering solutions that drive innovation across Infrastructure and other Dropbox teams
• Apply SDLC principles to deliver secure, scalable, and reliable systems from design through deployment
• Participate in code reviews and proactively address technical debt to improve long-term maintainability and velocity
• Collaborate with engineers, architects, TPMs, and cross-functional partners to define requirements and deliver on strategic initiatives
• Partner with senior and staff engineers to implement modern standards and best practices across critical systems

On-call work may be necessary occasionally to address bugs, outages, or other operational issues to maintain a stable and high-quality experience for our customers.
