Data Modeler + Power BI

Job Summary

As a Power BI Developer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing Power BI solutions that meet the business requirements of the organization. You will work closely with business stakeholders and technical teams to identify data visualization needs and create robust and scalable Power BI solutions. This role requires a deep understanding of data modeling, data visualization, and business intelligence concepts, as well as strong technical and analytical skills.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Collaborate with business stakeholders and technical teams to understand data requirements, define business intelligence objectives, and design Power BI solutions that align with the organization's goals and strategies.
• Develop data models and data flows to support efficient and accurate data visualization. Design and implement data transformations, aggregations, calculation groups and calculations to create meaningful insights and metrics.
• Create visually appealing and interactive dashboards, reports, and visualizations using Power BI, ensuring data accuracy and consistency throughout the visualizations and providing insights in a clear and understandable manner.
• Work closely with data engineers and developers to identify and extract data from various sources such as databases, data warehouses, and APIs, transforming and cleansing data as needed for effective analysis and reporting. Implement data security and access controls to ensure data confidentiality.
• Optimize Power BI solutions for improved performance and scalability. Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, enhance query performance, and implement caching mechanisms to optimize data retrieval.
• Implement security measures and data governance policies to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of data. Define and enforce data access controls, data classification, and data retention policies in line with organizational standards and compliance requirements.
• Schedule and manage data refresh processes to ensure the availability of up-to-date information in Power BI reports and dashboards.
• Monitor Power BI solutions for data accuracy, performance issues, and system health. Proactively identify and resolve issues, perform regular maintenance tasks, and apply necessary updates and patches to keep the system up to date.
• Stay updated with the latest Power BI features, best practices, and industry trends. Evaluate and recommend new tools, technologies, and methodologies to enhance the overall data visualization and analytics capabilities.
