Overview
Role summary : The Mexico Therapeutic Area lead (TAL) is a role within value and Implementation Global Medical and Scientific Affairs (V&I GMSA) reporting directly to the Mexico Medical Director (CMD) and is an important medical leader and point of contact for the therapeutic area (TA)-related GMSA activities for the Mexico as aligned with the Latin America (LATAM) region.
The TAL will be the primary Mexico contact for TA Medical Affairs and will aim to strengthen internal and external partnerships within the Mexico for the TA to increase overall performance in areas of unmet need.
Responsibilities and Primary Activities
The TAL is responsible for Medical Affairs management, including Field Medical, Insight management, Group Input Meeting, non-promotional medical education programs, country-to-country process, independent medical grants, metrics reports and dashboards, medical review, scientific trainings, Pre-License Patient Access Programs (PLPA), local data generation (LDG), Our comany Investigator Studies Program (MISP), and budget for his / her TA.
Required Qualifications, Skills, & Experience Minimum
MD, with clinical degree (medical training, residence) in related medical specialties (internal medicine, epidemiology, public health, infectology (in the case of the ID-Vax-GenMed), oncology
Extensive people management experience with complex matrix geographical organizations
Extensive background in the TA (5 years minimum either in clinical settings or the pharmaceutical industry)
Strong communication skills and ability to influence senior stakeholders
Demonstrated organizational skills, including ability to set goals and align priorities
Strong understanding of the local compliance environment in which Medical Affairs functions
Strong business acumen, ethics, and credible reputation with the external scientific community
Demonstrated track record of success in Medical Affairs with industry-leading performance
Demonstrable track record of meaningful contributions to an executive leadership team beyond the medical affairs function, such as Clinical, Commercial, Outcomes Research
Experience in the development or field management of interventional / non interventional clinical studies
Demonstrated creativity and effectiveness in addressing strategic challenges
An entrepreneurial mindset and is capable of thinking out of the box and taking measured risks
Experience working in global and regional medical affairs functions
Understanding of issues across a global affiliate network and ability to contribute relevant insights as appropriate
Ability to manage a highly complex matrix organization comfortably
Experience and a demonstrated successful track record in global biopharmaceutical clinical development / medical affairs
