Trinity Corporate IT is searching for a talented team player to fill the open position of Network Architect in our Queretaro, Mexico office supporting our Dallas, TX Corporate IT.
The Network Architect will provide technical leadership for a team of engineers, provide proposal and solutions development, create technology roadmaps and internal documentation, and build / maintain vendor relations. In addition, the Network Architect will work directly with internal customers to create formalized requirement packages. This role ensures optimal performance, security, and cost-efficiency; oversees project compliance; and drives automation / continuous improvement across all networks.
What you'll do :
- Serve as the expert in all networking aspects of Trinity Industries IT Operations. This includes direct services provided by Trinity and indirect services provided by services providers
- Work with management to maintain and continue optimizing network services and costs
- Architect strategic solutions to address all aspects of network infrastructure design and architecture, lead installations as well as troubleshooting and service outage resolution
- Oversite of maintaining the integrity of the network boundaries, setting up firewalls (Firepower, Fortigate), IDS / IPS / protections and other defenses against cyber security threats
- Develop and routinely provide system performance metrics, creates and maintains a map of the entire network and remote site connectivity, complete with inventory of software / hardware used in the topology of the design
- Develop, maintain and test network centric disaster recovery plans and incident response plans
- Perform capacity planning, tuning, and develop / document standards for all aspects of network infrastructure
What you’ll bring :
Bachelor's degree, preferably IT or Computer Science discipline required8+ years’ combined network engineering and leadership experienceCisco Certified (CCNP +) or Fortinet Certified (FCSS +) preferredMust have hands on automation experience using scripting languages (Python preferred)Must be fully fluent in English as a 2nd language / written and verbal communication must be a the business levelExhibited experience in development of comprehensive proposals from formalized network requirements capture.Extensive support and collaboration experience across vendor, customer and peer groupsExtensive experience in the following areas : outing (SDWAN / BGP / OSPF), Switching (VLAN / VXLAN),Firewalls (Firepower / Fortigate), Load balancers (Netscaler),Gateways, Data and voice convergence (Cisco UC), Video services, Network protocols, Datacenter networking (VXLAN) Cloud services network integration (Azure Networking), Wireless technologies (Cisco WLC), Supplier management for carriers and service providersExtensive experience troubleshooting multi-tier Internet applications platforms and cloud networking interfacesDeep understanding of network protocols, and their applications and characteristic behaviorsExperience performing assessments / audits and implementing necessary network security and audit controls to address discovered issues, weakness and or regulatory requirementsExperience of working with application and network layer cryptography and virtualizationCompetency in leveraging tools to enhance network engineering, monitoring, automation, and troubleshootingAbility to travel to the Dallas Corporate office as neededSeniority level
