Overview
We’re looking for a hands-on Cyber Security Engineer to join NOV’s Security Architecture & Engineering team. You’ll help secure NOV using our zero trust methodology designing and deploying technical controls, automating protection at scale, and supporting secure architecture across IT and OT environments.

What You’ll Do
- Use AI / ML or LLM-based tools to accelerate detection, enrich investigations, and support real-time response automation
- Automate tasks using PowerShell, Python, or Bash to reduce manual workflows and improve enforcement
- Deploy and manage security tools or policies across identity, cloud, endpoint, and network with platforms like Okta, SentinelOne, and Zscaler
- Implement and maintain security configurations in Azure, AWS, and hybrid environments aligned with Zero Trust and least privilege principles
- Participate in architecture and design reviews, providing actionable security recommendations for new infrastructure, applications, or system changes
- Perform technical risk assessments using frameworks like NIST CSF to identify vulnerabilities and recommend corrective, compensating, or administrative controls
- Review cloud, network, and firewall change requests for potential exposure or policy violations
- Research and evaluate emerging security threats, tools, and best practices helping shape NOV’s defensive strategy
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (cloud, infrastructure, identity, OT) to embed security into project delivery and daily operations
- Other duties as assigned by organization leadership
What You Bring
Possess strong communications and interpersonal skills in EnglishSelf-directed, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities in a large enterprise environmentExperience in cybersecurity, infrastructure, or cloud security engineeringFamiliarity with identity and access platformsProficient in scripting (PowerShell, Python, or Bash) for task automation or data handlingSolid understanding of network security, endpoint hardening, and cloud-native controlsExperience conducting technical risk assessments or design evaluationsExposure to AI-assisted security workflows or a desire to work with AI toolingPreferred Qualifications
Certifications : CISSP, CompTIA Security+, GSEC, CEH, or similarBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent experienceWhy NOV?
