Senior Network Security Engineer

Scope of PositionCorning has an immediate opening for a motivated Network Security Engineer who has firewall experience to join Corning's Global Cybersecurity Operations organization.

This position is part of an expanding team aiming to limit Cybersecurity risks and protect our corporate capability using multiple layers of protection.ResponsibilitiesPhysically install and connect firewalls and other security appliances, performing some security tasks, adapting to evolving technologies and threat techniques.Install the latest vendor-approved stable firmware on appliances, establishing updated procedures of installation as neededMonitor firewalls for up / down or issues, document, root cause analysis, reportingCreate virtual firewalls with appropriate configurations and policies.Configure remote access VPN and site-to-site VPN functionality.Configure firewall interfaces, network configurations, access control lists and policies, routing, remote access (VPN), and next-generation firewall feature sets implementing best practices.Integrate firewall with VPN and other related security products / appliances as required.Configure SIEM IntegrationCreate and manage firewall rulesets.Collection, analysis, and change recommendations of configuration information to streamline support and minimize impact to manufacturing.Collection and initial analysis of packet trace information and recommendation of corrective actions based on the analysis.Investigates minor security breaches using established procedures, incorporating analytical tools and techniques.Consultation of technical documentation, bulletins, and release notes for known problems.

Contributes to management reporting processes.Follow up on technical cases, including proper escalation and management of the caseAddresses and resolves a variety of security events to maintain system integrity and operational continuity.Manage customer communications and expectations until the closure of each case, including vendor escalations, device RMA, and coordination support.Create or maintain standard operating procedures.Able to work on-site, hybrid, and remote, after hours and / or be part of an on-call rotationEducation and Experience : 3-5+ years of firewall experience .

Relevant certifications desired on security tools, such as : Firewalls, Intrusion Detection / Prevention Systems (IDS / IPS), SIEM, VPNExperience desired on : IVANTI Pulse Secure, Juniper, Palo Alto Networks, Cisco.Required SkillsStrong experience with vulnerability managementSupport out-of-band connectivity devices, and log collectors.Create and manage firewall rulesets.Advanced troubleshooting on the full range of firewall productsExplores and applies relevant digital tools and skills for their role.Understands and effectively applies appropriate methods, tools, applications and processes.Understands and collaborates on the analysis of user / customer needs and represents this in their work.Shift ScheduleThis role follows a rotational schedule, requiring availability for weekends and night shiftsPreferred SkillsBachelor's degree in computer science, Software Engineering or related field, or an equivalent combination of training and experience is desirable.One year of Manufacturing or Operational Technology experience.Travel RequirementUp to 10%
