Combustion Turbine Tuning / Commissioning Field Service Engineer

A Snapshot of Your Day

The major activities include tuning, troubleshooting and commissioning of large gas turbines, implementing improvements and logic changes in the control system. The position requires 80%+ travel to power plant sites internationally. You will attend site meetings with customers to review scope advance and unit start‑up schedule and issues.

How You’ll Make An Impact

• Primary contact to customers for the maintenance, troubleshooting and commissioning of large gas turbines.
• Wide knowledge of the theory of the combustion process and understanding of the combustion dynamics that occur in Siemens Energy large gas turbines.
• Ability to perform combustion tuning on Siemens‑Energy SGT6‑5000F, SGT6‑6000G, SGT6‑8000H frame gas turbines, including the procedures for tuning, countermeasures for pressure fluctuations and special tuning.
• Work closely with the Siemens Energy project team from planning to completion of service projects, provide start‑up commissioning, operations and / or troubleshooting support for equipment failures, determine root cause analysis and implement solutions to ensure equipment services and commissioning processes are followed.
• Prepare and forward accurate reports concerning condition, repairs and recommendations for customer equipment.
• Lead and supervise an I&C technicians’ team to implement the scope when required.
• Implement scope according with Siemens Energy field service procedures and be responsible for complying with and enforcing the protocols, policies, guidelines and competencies of the current integral management system (EHS, Quality).
