Amazon Web Services (AWS) is looking for an experienced and motivated technical manager to coach, grow, and partner with skilled Startups Solutions Architects. Working with our sales teams, you will drive growth across a broad set of startup customers and partners in this segment.
Responsibilities
- Be technically capable and credible, while shaping the customer-facing and technical skills of your team.
- Demonstrate a solid understanding of the Startup journey and help early-stage startups make pragmatic technical decisions.
- Work directly with a variety of customers to build enduring relationships and establish yourself as a trusted advisor.
- Help team members ramp up on AWS and develop speaking, writing, presentation, and executive interaction skills.
- Collaborate with other AWS departments (Services Teams, Marketing, Business Development, Solutions Architecture Organization) and represent your team to executive management.
- Open to domestic travel up to 30%.
- Coach Solutions Architects to conduct one-to-few and one-to-many training sessions to transfer deep technical skills to customers evaluating or using AWS.
- Capture and share best-practice knowledge within the AWS Solutions Architect community.
- Create and drive high-value customer-facing content and best practices (whitepapers, data sheets, solutions, quickstarts).
- Act as a conduit between customers, service engineering, and support.
- Engage with Amazon leadership to communicate and drive vision across the organization.
A day in the life
As a key member of the Startups Solutions Architecture leadership team, ensure customer success in building and migrating infrastructure, software, and services onto the AWS platform using best practices and modern architectures.Partner with the sales and business development teams to formulate and execute a strategy to drive successful customer outcomes worldwide for startups.Hire, on-board, train, and develop new Solutions Architects.Coach Solutions Architects in skills needed to train customers (one-to-one and one-to-many) who are considering or using AWS.Share best-practice knowledge within the AWS Solutions Architect community.Develop whitepapers, data sheets, solutions, quickstarts, and other high-value content for customers.Coordinate with service engineering and support teams to meet customer needs.Engage with Amazon leadership to communicate your vision and drive cross-organizational collaboration.About the team
The AWS Startups team partners with startups worldwide to build, launch, grow, and help scale their business. We support startups with cloud infrastructure and provide resources to tackle challenges from fundraising to building technical teams and startup culture. You will help shape the strategy and direction for broadening the use of Amazon’s cloud platform for startups.
Qualifications
5+ years of management of technical, enterprise customer-facing resources or equivalent experience.5+ years of infrastructure architecture, database architecture, and networking experience.Bachelor's degree.Experience architecting / operating solutions built on any cloud service provider (AWS, Azure, GCP, OCI, etc.).Experience architecting, migrating, transforming, or modernizing customer requirements to the cloud.Travel
Open to domestic travel up to 30%.
