Group Manager – Trade Compliance Americas (US, Canada and Mexico)

As a member of the DP World ("DPW") Group Compliance team for the Americas region the incumbent will support the Regional Head of Compliance, Americas Region in the implementation and enhancement of DP World’s trade compliance program for the freight forwarding business globally, with specific focus on North America.

Key Accountabilities

• Implement DPW’s export / import compliance standards, guidelines and compliance monitoring procedures for freight forwarding operations in the USA, Canada and Mexico.
• Identify and escalate any potential violations of trade compliance regulations (ITAR, EAR, Anti-Boycott, FTR) and implement process improvements to mitigate risks.
• Support internal, external and government-directed trade compliance site visits, audits and assessments and assist with corrective actions, as necessary.
• Advise the freight forwarding business on the application and implementation of trade compliance initiatives, trade regulations, and work with key stakeholders to formulate best practice solutions and strategies.
• Assist in compliance-related training initiatives including training material development and delivering training, targeted to various stakeholders.
• Drive the standardization of trade compliance processes and assist with trade compliance-related matters relevant to the US, Canada (and Mexico) BUs.
• Participate in, and provide input to, new customer proposals / tenders.
• Review licensed transactions and maintain accurate books and records for shipments to sanctioned countries, in line with regulatory requirements. Liaise with the Head office SME as necessary / appropriate.
• Perform and coordinate other related tasks as required by the Regional Head of Compliance, Americas Region.
