Our agricultural commodity client is searching for a Chickpea Trader for their large, progressive supply chain / export organization. This position will manage the Mexican chickpea portfolio, overseeing procurement, trading, and sales strategy, as well as risk management and supply chain execution.
We’re looking for a proven trader with deep knowledge of international chickpea markets, strong decision-making ability, and the leadership skills to drive growth and profitability.

Responsibilities
Lead the full cycle of chickpea trading, from sourcing through to customer delivery, ensuring cost-effective and profitable operations.Research and evaluate global market opportunities, building a strong pipeline of suppliers and buyers for long-term growth.Identify and mitigate risks tied to pricing swings, supply chain disruptions, and international political / economic shifts.Represent the company across international markets, cultivating and maintaining trusted partnerships with growers, processors, clients, and brokers.Partner with logistics and supply chain teams to coordinate shipping, contract execution, and on-time delivery of products.Negotiate and oversee sales and purchase contracts, ensuring adherence to company standards and international trade rules.Set short- and long-term goals for market share and profitability, then deliver against those objectives.Monitor global chickpea production and pricing to maintain competitiveness and leverage emerging opportunities.Collaborate closely with internal teams—including operations, sales, and marketing—to support broader business performance.Requirements
University degree in Agribusiness, Economics, Business Administration, or a closely related field.Significant hands-on experience in international chickpea trading, including procurement and market development.Demonstrated success leading teams and managing trading portfolios within the commodities space.Strong analytical background with the ability to predict market shifts, assess risk exposure, and make data-driven decisions.Solid grasp of risk management strategies, including hedging and supply chain risk mitigation.Knowledge of international trade practices, logistics processes, and the global regulatory environment.Flexibility to adapt business strategies to shifting market conditions and evolving customer demands.Fluent in English and Spanish, both written and verbal.Candidates must be legally eligible to work in Mexico and must submit their resumes in English.
