• The Role
• We are looking for experienced and talented individuals for research and development of our engineering solutions for the process industries. Strong mathematical modeling and optimization knowledge and a good understanding of Process System Engineering principles is required for this position. Software development knowledge is important for this position.##
• Your Impact
• Conduct research leading to the development of innovative software solutions.
• Keep current with new and developing research and technologies in the areas of process systems modeling, optimization, design and synthesis.
• Collaborate with product development teams, product designers and software architects to define solutions to support next-generation capabilities.
• Collaborate with product managers, product designers and developers to construct detailed product requirements and specifications for innovative process engineering products.
• Provide technical support to product management, product marketing, services, and customer and business support on customer activities.
• Interface with clients to resolve technical support issues or to increase product usage and adoption.## What You'll Need
• PhD in Chemical Engineering, or equivalent.
• Two or more years of experience in the research and development of innovative software solutions for the process industries.
• Experience leading and managing research and development projects.
• Practical experience in the process systems engineering area.
• Specific domain knowledge in mathematical modeling, design and synthesis, planning and scheduling, supply chain management, or power flow applications is a plus.
• Programming experience with modeling frameworks (PYOMO), Python, object-oriented programming is a plus.
• Knowledge of AspenTech products is a plus.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, writing and presentation skills.
• Demonstrated ability to convey complex information in a clear and concise manner.
• English fluency (written and verbal) required.
