POSITION SUMMARY
The SFA (Special Feature Authorization) Electrical Engineer will contribute to the design and release of customizations to chillers; will work in a cross-functional development group; managing a variety of tasks and activities are required in this dynamic environment; solving complex problems where no precedent exists.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Create and revise unit wiring schematics and network connection drawings
- Create and review electric panel layouts following relevant codes and standards
- Create and revise wire harnesses
- Check and approve drawings and bill of materials
- Work with software team to develop and verify CRAC system controls
- Work with development scientist to validate setup of new electrical customizations
- Participate in identification of cost reduction opportunities and in the design and development of cost reduction changes
- Implement product changes to solve field issues, support service department
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Job Qualifications :
Minimum 2-4 years of experience in an electrical engineering field.Ability to work and multi-task in a fast-paced environment independently and as a member of a dynamic team; offer and receive constructive criticismAbility to mentor and guide less experienced team membersDemonstrated history of delivering quality products to market with understanding and respect for phases of the product development processExcellent project management skills and communication skills, both written and verbalProficient in 3D CAD software, preferred CREO 4.0 and greaterKnowledge of NEC (NFPA79), IEEE 519, UL 508A SBPreferred Qualifications :
Preferred 4-8 years of experience in an HVAC related electrical engineering field : experience with Chillers preferredExperience with PLM systems (BOM management and change order release)Experience working closely with associates in manufacturing engineering and production rolesKnowledge of UL60335-2-40 or equivalent CSA / UL standardsUnderstanding electrical schematic layout and creationExperience with communications and interconnects standards and protocols including RS485, CAN, and EthernetEDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS
Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering or related degree from an accredited college or universityPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
