About the Role
We are looking for a Program Buyer with 3–5 years of experience in the automotive industry to manage purchasing activities for new product launches and ongoing programs. This role will ensure the timely sourcing of components, cost optimization, supplier performance, and adherence to program timelines. The ideal candidate has a strong background in supplier negotiations, program management, and cross-functional collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
Lead sourcing and procurement activities for assigned vehicle programs from concept through launch.
Develop and execute purchasing strategies aligned with program goals for quality, cost, and delivery.
Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with suppliers to achieve cost savings and favorable conditions.
Coordinate with engineering, quality, and program management teams to ensure supplier compliance with specifications and milestones.
Manage supplier performance, risk assessment, and escalation processes as needed.
Track purchasing KPIs and provide regular status updates to program leadership.
Support cost-reduction initiatives, tooling procurement, and change management activities.
Requirements
~ Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering , or related field.
~3–5 years of purchasing or procurement experience in the automotive industry .
~ Proven track record in supplier negotiations and contract management.
~ Understanding of automotive program development phases (APQP, PPAP).
~ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
~ Excellent communication skills in English; Spanish proficiency is a plus.
~ Ability to work with cross-functional, global teams.
~ Willingness to travel for supplier visits and program meetings.
Preferred Skills
Experience with ERP / MRP systems (e.g., SAP).
Knowledge of interior or exterior automotive components.
Familiarity with cost breakdown analysis and tooling procurement.
