A leading Tier 1 manufacturing company in the automotive is seeking an Engineering Manager – North America to lead a regional team of applications and test engineers. This role will support customer application projects, plant operations, and cost-out initiatives. The successful candidate will combine strong technical expertise with proven leadership skills and will thrive in a global, customer-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Team Leadership : Manage, coach, and develop a regional team of applications and test engineers to ensure strong performance in supporting customer projects, manufacturing operations, and cost-reduction goals.
- Customer Project Support : Oversee engineering activities related to product adaptation, validation testing, and issue resolution to meet performance, quality, and timing requirements.
- Plant Operations Support : Partner with manufacturing teams to address production challenges, implement engineering changes, and drive improvements in quality and warranty performance.
- Cost-Out & Value Engineering : Lead and execute cost-reduction initiatives without compromising product integrity or performance.
- Global Collaboration : Coordinate closely with global engineering counterparts to align regional initiatives with worldwide product strategies and share best practices.
- Technical Guidance : Provide expert input on commercial vehicle seating systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and customer requirements.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.8–10 years of engineering experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership position.Proven background in commercial vehicle or automotive seating, including experience with IATF-16949 processes.Strong knowledge of product development, validation testing, and manufacturing processes.Experience with Teamcenter PDM and CATIA CAD software.Demonstrated success working in cross-functional teams within a global matrix organization.Strong problem-solving, communication, and project management skills.Availability to travel as needed within the region.Key Competencies
