POSITION OVERVIEW
We are looking for a detail-oriented Professional in Development to join our team remotely from Monterrey, Mexico, supporting a leading flooring company based in the Bay Area, California. This role is an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in construction estimating and project coordination. The candidate will assist with preparing cost estimates, managing RFIs (Requests for Information), change orders, submittals, and material quantification for flooring, finished concrete, casework, architectural millwork and finish carpentry projects.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in preparing detailed cost estimates for company projects.
- Review project plans and specifications to determine material and labor requirements.
- Prepare and submit RFIs to clarify project details with clients, architects, and general contractors.
- Process and track change orders, ensuring accurate documentation and pricing adjustments.
- Coordinate submittals for approval, ensuring compliance with project requirements.
- Perform material take-offs and quantify flooring, finished concrete, casework, architectural millwork, finish carpentry and other necessary components.
- Collaborate with project managers and field teams to ensure accurate and efficient project execution.
- Maintain organized records of project documentation and correspondence.
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, preferably in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Architecture, or a Construction Management Certificate from an accredited university.Applicable internships or field experience preferred.Proficiency in computer applications (Microsoft Excel, Word, Google Sheets, cloud-based collaboration tools, and general IT troubleshooting).Fast learner with the ability to quickly adapt to construction-related software and processes.Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities.Read, understand and interpret construction plans, schematics, blueprints, drawings, and technical manuals to determine appropriate construction methods.Excellent communication skills in English and Spanish.Proven ability to multi-task, change priorities, handle stress to meet deadlines in a fast paced work environment.This job description provides a general overview and is not an exhaustive list of responsibilities.
