AUTONOMOUS PRODUCTION UNIT MANAGER

We are looking for an experienced and dynamic APU Manager (Autonomous Production Unit Manager) to lead one of our major production units at our Monterrey, N.L. site.
Purpose :
Directs Group Leaders, Team Leaders and other Team Members in assigned manufacturing area in the execution of the group’s responsibilities. Manages group (manufacturing line) as an operational unit and responsible to accomplish company goals and targets in accordance with all company policies, manufacturing standards and methods, and quality standards for safety, product quality, customer satisfaction, accuracy, productivity, cost reduction, housekeeping, efficiency, training, teamwork, and morale.
Reporting Line :
This positions reports to Plant Director Monterrey, and their direct reporting line includes : Production Manager, Technical Manager, Quality Manager, Lean Coordinator, Maintenance Coordinator, Master Scheduler.
Average headcount from 100 - 250 employees.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead an operation of approximately 250 employees, managing the areas of Production, Engineering, Quality, Lean / Continuous Improvement, Maintenance, and Master Scheduling.
- Develop and implement strategies to achieve key performance indicators (Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, and People).
- Drive operational excellence through Lean Manufacturing, 5S, TPM, and structured problem-solving methodologies.
- Lead automation and process optimization projects that improve efficiency, reliability, and cost competitiveness.
- Ensure adherence to production plans and delivery commitments while maintaining product quality and safety standards.
- Manage the department’s budget, resources, and manpower planning effectively.
- Foster a culture of engagement, accountability, and continuous improvement through coaching and development of the leadership team.
- Lead daily SQCDP (Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, People) reviews and ensure cross-functional alignment to meet operational goals.
Candidate Profile
Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronics Engineering (or related).Minimum 8–10 years of experience in manufacturing operations, including team leadership and plant performance management.Proven experience managing multi-functional teams (Production, Quality, Maintenance, Engineering, Planning, etc.).Strong background in Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, and Automation projects.Excellent leadership, analytical, and decision-making skills.Advanced English proficiency.What We Offer
