Software Quality Engineer - Backend Testing

We're seeking a Senior Software QA Engineer to join a global media leader's Operations & Technology (O&T) organization. In this role, you'll combine creativity, technical expertise, and leadership to deliver high-quality, scalable software solutions. You'll collaborate across Product, Engineering, and Operations teams to ensure exceptional product reliability, while mentoring junior engineers and driving the continuous improvement of QA standards and automation frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor QA Engineers in best practices, automation design, and testing methodologies.
• Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Operations to understand features, architecture, and workflows.
• Design, develop, and execute automated and manual test cases to validate functional and performance requirements.
• Perform hands‑on testing, debugging, and peer reviews of test scripts and automation code.
• Define and implement automation strategies using frameworks such as Selenium WebDriver, JUnit, TestNG, Playwright, or Cypress.
• Test REST APIs, databases, and backend integrations using advanced SQL queries.
• Integrate automated tests within CI / CD pipelines and collaborate closely with DevOps teams.
• Identify, communicate, and track defects using tools such as Jira or QMetry.
• Contribute to QA process improvements and ensure delivery of high-quality releases.
• Stay up-to-date with emerging testing tools, cloud platforms, and automation technologies.
