OverviewWe are seeking a Specials System Lead to oversee the planning, execution, and commissioning of specialized infrastructure systems in data center construction projects.
This role is accountable for the successful integration of electronic safety, building management, telecommunications, access control, and other low-voltage systems, ensuring operational readiness, reliability, and compliance with project standards.ResponsibilitiesLead the design review and technical oversight of Building Management Systems (BMS), Fire Detection Systems, Structured Cabling, CCTV, Access Control, and Critical Automation Platforms.Analyze system drawings and integration plans, ensuring compatibility and coordination across electrical, mechanical, and IT infrastructure.Supervise contractor installation activities to verify conformance with manufacturer guidelines, project specifications, and industry standards.Coordinate with commissioning teams to validate sequence of operations and prepare systems for turnover.Define and manage test protocols for FATs (Factory Acceptance Tests) and FWTs (Field Witness Tests), and integrated systems verification.Ensure functionality, redundancy, and cybersecurity requirements are met for operational systems.Participate in risk analysis and contribute to the systems commissioning matrix and documentation controls.Maintain detailed records of installed components, wiring diagrams, configuration parameters, and test results.Prepare and deliver technical documentation packages for client operations and project handover.Act as a key liaison with client IT / security teams, ensuring stakeholder expectations are aligned with infrastructure capabilities.QualificationsBachelor's degree in Electronics, Mechatronics, Telecommunications, or Electrical Engineering.Minimum of 8 years' experience in special systems leadership roles within data centers, industrial, or mission-critical infrastructure projects.Advanced knowledge of BMS platforms, access control architecture, fire systems, and ICT cabling standards.Familiarity with TIA / EIA, NFPA, NEC, ISO, and other applicable low-voltage and safety standards.Proficient in AutoCAD, BIM coordination tools, Microsoft Office, and integration software.Fluent in English and Spanish, with strong reporting and stakeholder management capabilities.Turner & Townsend is an equal opportunity employer.
