BorgWarner PowerDrive Systems is currently looking for “dynamic, results driven” individual to join as a Design Engineer. The Design Engineer works under minimal supervision while developing designs, complex layouts, and stack-ups of individual components, sub systems and systems. The incumbent continues any training of advanced CAD / CAM methods and collaborates with Driveline Engineering team members to release components and assemblies into PLM system.
Develop accurate complex designs, layouts, and stack-ups of individual parts or assemblies.
Perform maintenance of CAD / CAM files. Continue training with advanced CAD / CAM methods and equipment and start and / or continues training with CAE methods and equipment.
Develop and maintain customer and internal guide files, drafting standards, work instructions, and other tools intended to enhance the efficiency and abilities of his / her Design Group.
Brainstorm new design concepts and assist in the creation and management of prototype BOM’s
Work in Siemens Teamcenter to manage work orders, drawings, BOM structure, and 3D models
Work with other Driveline Engineering team members on continuous improvement projects such as process enhancements, new design techniques and concept layouts.
Willingness and ability to travel locally to manufacturing sites, with a primary focus on gaining hands-on knowledge of the assembly line and providing support for design and production-related concerns as needed.
Provide support for Value Analysis / Value Engineering (VA / VE) initiatives within application projects to optimize cost, performance, and manufacturability.
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field (minimum requirement)
Over 5 years of engineering experience in the automotive sector or a or a global manufacturing environment.
Background in powertrain systems, with demonstrated experience in design, development, or integration regarded as a valuable asset.
Demonstrated success in the design, development, and launch of advanced powertrain systems, with a strong track record of delivering high-performance solutions from concept to production
Advanced proficiency in 2D / 3D CAD modeling and technical drawing using NX primarily and CATIA as preferred.
Deep understanding of complex design layouts, stack-ups, and verbal design instructions
Strong analytical skills for component and subsystem design and evaluation
Digital Proficiency :
Proficient with Microsoft office products - Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
Understanding of key manufacturing processes including forging, casting, machining, heat treatment, welding, balancing, surface treatments, and molding is preferred.
High proficiency in English
Team-oriented with excellent organizational abilities, including prioritization, multitasking, handling multiple projects simultaneously and deadline management
Self-motivated and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
