An established international company in the scientific and technology sector is seeking a seasoned Finance Manager to lead its finance, legal compliance, and administrative operations in Mexico. This role is ideal for a professional with strong financial expertise, leadership skills, and experience in managing legal and tax obligations in alignment with corporate standards.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Strategy and Control
- Manage monthly and annual closings, financial statement preparation, and cost control
- Lead budgeting, financial forecasting, and performance analysis
- Oversee commission calculations, corporate card reconciliations, and financial reporting to HQ
Legal and Tax Compliance
Ensure compliance with ISR, IVA, IMSS, INFONAVIT, and labor law requirementsCoordinate SAT filings, audits, and respond to tax authority inquiriesSupervise contract validation and legal documentation for leases and vendor agreementsServe as point of contact for external legal and tax advisorsInternal Controls and Risk Management
Design and maintain internal control policies and compliance protocolsConduct internal audits, vendor evaluations, and expense review (e.g., Concur reports)Foster a culture of accountability and regulatory complianceAdministrative and Team Leadership
Supervise payroll, benefits administration, and vendor contract renewalsEvaluate team performance, drive development plans, and lead operational meetingsCoordinate closely with corporate offices in the U.S. and JapanEnsure smooth operation of day-to-day administrative tasks, including asset management and logisticsRequirements
Education
Bachelor's degree in Accounting (required)MBA or Master's in Finance, Business Administration, or related field (preferred or in progress)Additional certifications in Taxation or Legal Compliance (a strong plus)Experience
Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in finance, administration, and compliance rolesSolid background in SAT filings, audits, and coordination with regulatory bodiesProven track record in financial planning, payroll, accounts management, and HR policy oversightTechnical Skills
Proficiency in SAP, QAD, Contpaq, and ExcelStrong command of NIF, IFRS, and / or US GAAPB2+ / C1 level English : capable of professional communication with international stakeholdersDesirable Qualifications
Experience with transfer pricing, deferred tax management, and actuarial evaluationsKnowledge of corporate governance and labor litigation in MexicoExposure to ERP implementations and process automationComfortable working in multicultural environments, particularly with Japanese partners
