A Sales Development Engineer at Cognex is not your ‘traditional’ Sales Development role. An SDE at Cognex incorporates exposure to multiple facets of our business, such as Product Marketing, Engineering, Technical Support, and Outside Sales. An SDE will work cross-functionally with Marketing on strategy and lead generation campaigns, occasionally travel to sales territories to shadow experienced sales engineers for customer-facing experiences; and will work on various lead generation projects within various business units.

Responsibilities

• Qualify inbound leads across a variety of channels utilizing proven sales strategies to create sales pipeline
• Initiate and develop conversations with prospects through an inbound and outbound motion to help convert them into new accounts
• Research and reach out to key contacts at targeted accounts in an outbound motion as needed
• Develop technical command of the diverse Cognex product portfolio through product training
• Build cross-department relationships and lines of communication
• Contribute feedback to Marketing and Sales effectiveness and efficiency initiatives
