What you’ll do : Job Summary
The GTM CoE FTA Analyst is responsible for minimizing duty payments on Eaton's operations by maximizing the use of Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) available to the organizations supported by the GTM MX CoE. This involves performing FTA analysis and proofs of origin solicitations for treaties such as USMCA, MX-Colombia, EU-MX, KORUS, US-ISRAEL, among others. The candidate should maintain the preferential status for raw materials in SAP - GTS, issue certifications of origin, update master databases, lead meetings with the businesses, and deliver monthly KPIs. The role also involves establishing relationships with business managers and engaging with Eaton's delivery times, customs compliance, and quality standards. This position reports to the GTM CoE FTA Team Leader.
Job Responsibilities
- Execute FTA solicitation and qualification for treaties like USMCA, MX-Colombia, EU-MX, KORUS, US-Israel, etc.
- Ensure all documentation supporting certifications of origin and refund projects is retained according to internal record-keeping processes for full compliance.
- Explain rules of origin application to internal customers to clarify why an item qualifies or does not qualify for a particular treaty.
- Manage qualification projects, meet delivery deadlines, and communicate project status effectively with GTM leadership and businesses.
- Report monthly results and KPIs timely to mitigate risks related to treaty applications.
- Stay informed about business projects and import-export changes to identify potential risks affecting the certification process and communicate them to leadership for mitigation.
- Adopt Eaton's safety culture, maintain a clean working environment, follow Life Saving Rules, and meet daily 5S+ requirements to ensure zero incidents.
- Perform all functions adhering to Eaton's Philosophy & Values.
- Create and maintain updated standard process documentation, such as Work Instructions & Standard Works.
- Lead stakeholder meetings and actively participate in internal meetings and training sessions.

Qualifications :
Education level required : Bachelor’s degree.
Experience required : Two to three years in the Free Trade Agreements area.
Technical knowledge :
FTA Qualification Analysis and classification skills.Understanding of rules of origin interpretation & application (Tariff shift & RV), and domain in qualification methods like De Minimis.Desirable domain in SAP-GTS.Knowledge of U.S. and Mexican Government Import Regulations.Advanced English skills (spoken, written, listening).Microsoft Suite proficiency.Desirable knowledge of problem-solving methodologies and CI tools.#LI-MB2
