About the Role

A U.S.-based private investment and development firm, is hiring a full-time Remote Accountant to support core accounting functions across multiple real estate portfolios and entities. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with experience in real estate or fund-based accounting. You'll lead bookkeeping, monthly closes, reconciliations, and reporting to ensure financial accuracy and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate financial records and bookkeeping for several active entities
• Perform timely month-end closes and prepare monthly financial summaries
• Support year-end audits and coordinate with CPA for annual tax filings
• Prepare and distribute 1099s; manage reimbursements and year-end transfers
• Reconcile bank, loan, reserve, escrow, and company accounts monthly
• Upload investor distributions, reports, and tax documents to investor portal
• Forecast loan payments, manage account shortfalls, and resolve escrow issues
• Audit general ledger accounts, P&L statements, and property sale records
• Maintain payroll tax records; process vendor payments and investor distributions
• Track late fees or refunds from vendors and escrow agents
• Participate in monthly finance meetings and respond to internal accounting requests
• Keep financial SOPs and internal playbooks up to date
