Role Overview

A fast-growing cross-border payments platform is hiring a Senior Backend Engineer to design and build the core systems powering global financial transactions. You’ll work with Node.js, TypeScript, and PostgreSQL to deliver scalable APIs that handle high-volume, high-integrity operations. This is a hands-on role for engineers who thrive in product-driven environments and want to shape infrastructure that moves money across continents.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and operate backend services using Node.js / TypeScript and PostgreSQL
• Design APIs for financial transactions with idempotency, reliability, and developer-friendly integration
• Architect solutions for payments, ledgering, and reconciliation
• Lead feature delivery from design to deployment
• Collaborate with product, design, and infrastructure teams to align technical decisions with business goals
• Review code, mentor peers, and raise the engineering bar
• Investigate and resolve production issues with a focus on root cause prevention
