Specific responsibilities include hiring; employee / labor relations and investigations, wage and salary administration, training and development, affirmative action compliance, workers' compensation and safety, and implementation of policies and programs as directed by corporate offices.ResponsibilitiesThe Assistant Director of Human Resources directs and ensures the efficient administration and management of the Human Resources function, including recruiting, training, wage / benefit administration, compliance with statutory requirements, and execution of employee relations activities.
The goal is to provide each department with the personnel, guidance, and support necessary to achieve their customer service and business objectives.The Assistant Director is also accountable for ensuring a proactive Human Resources environment consistent with profitability objectives.
Specifically, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards : Ensure compliance with the Affirmative Action Plan by training management on the hotel's goals and interview and selection methods.Lead the hotel's quality program, which involves a complete understanding of standards and reporting formats, as well as the creation and design of related training and incentive programs to encourage consistent guest service by all team members.
Analyze reports to identify areas where continuous improvement methods can be best applied.Manage the hotel's employee relations programs, including picnics, holiday parties, health fairs, employee communication channels, etc., and coordinate and direct staff through detailed oral and written instructions to facilitate successful completion of all related events / programs.
Design and implement new programs as needed for special promotions, events, or initiatives (e.g., safety, Olympics, blood drives).
Manage and supervise the day-to-day HR department operations.
Communicate all applicable HR processes to managers and hotel staff relating to, but not limited to, labor issues, contract compliance, disciplinary procedures, recruitment, orientation, staff relations, benefits, performance reviews, employment verifications, and other HR-related processes.Counsel and / or discipline employees as needed through clear, calm, and direct oral and written communications, in accordance with hotel policies.Oversee the overall function of the HRIS system, including but not limited to PAF data entry, separations, report generation, and other related functions.Respond to and negotiate on behalf of the hotel all unemployment claims.Supervise departmental and hotel staff on all worker's compensation issues to minimize the hotel's exposure to related expenses.Assist in or prepare periodic reports related to the Human Resources function (e.g., EEO, labor turnover, payroll analysis, operational budget) using moderately complex computer systems and written reports.QualificationsWhat are we looking for?
