Position Overview

Sun Holdings is seeking a Data & Platform Engineer to build and maintain the data platforms and infrastructure that support our restaurant and retail operations. In this role, you will develop reliable data pipelines and software solutions, improve system performance, and help teams access secure, accurate data. You will work closely with IT, operations, and analytics colleagues across the organization.

This is a full-time hybrid role based in Monterrey, Nuevo León, with a combination of on-site work and work-from-home flexibility.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain data platforms, databases, and supporting infrastructure.
• Develop and optimize data pipelines, integrations, APIs, and software solutions.
• Monitor platform health, troubleshoot issues, and improve reliability and performance.
• Support database design, querying, performance tuning, and data integrity.
• Collaborate with technical and business teams to deliver scalable data services.
• Apply data security, access control, and governance best practices.
• Document systems, processes, and technical improvements.

Qualifications

• Experience in software development and programming for data or platform solutions.
• Hands-on experience with databases, including querying, design, and performance optimization.
• Familiarity with data pipelines, ETL tools, APIs, and system integrations.
• Understanding of cloud or on-premises infrastructure, networking fundamentals, and system performance.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of enterprise security practices, access control, and data privacy.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with both technical and business teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting multi-unit restaurant, retail, or large-scale enterprise operations.
• Professional proficiency in both English and Spanish.
