The Controller owns the day-to-day accounting operation: a clean monthly close a healthy AP and AR cycle the policies and procedures that govern how money moves and the cross-functional work with center partners to resolve receivables and payables before they become disputes. Youll do this with direct support from the CFO and with room to grow the role as you grow with it.

This is a strong fit for someone with real Controller experience youve ow

ned a monthly close run reconciliations and produced financial reporting and are ready to take full ownership of the function here. Company size matters less than the depth of what you owned. We care more about how you think and operate than the revenue number on your last role and we want someone genuinely excited about running finance on a modern AI-enabled stack: QuickBooks Online as the GL and Ramp for spend management. Strong written and spoken English is required since the Controller works daily with the US executive team and Finance policies SOPs and reporting are produced in English. Experience with Sage multi-entity or international finance is a plus not a requirement.

The goal were building toward: a close that runs as a routine a healthy AP/AR cycle and a Finance function that operates with the same Athena rigor Client Support uses every day department goals KPIs SOPs and adherence metrics. You dont need to have built all of that before. You do need to want to build it here.

Goals

Close the books on a defined cadence with consistent quality and speed working toward a close that runs the same way every month.

Bring the Athena framework into Finance over time: department goals KPIs SOPs and adherence metrics the same way Client Support uses them.

Run a healthy AP and AR cycle. Keep aging within target and resolve partner billing exceptions at the source.

Own the policies and procedures that govern how Finance operates: documented current followed and updated when the business changes.

Resolve day-to-day accounting decisions partner billing questions and process exceptions at the Controller level with the CFO as a partner on the calls that carry strategic weight.

Responsibilities

Youll own the accounting function and report to the CFO. Concretely:

Run the monthly close including journal entries reconciliations and review steps against a published close calendar.

Manage the AP and AR cycles end to end: invoicing collections vendor payments and partner reconciliations.

Operate finance stack QuickBooks Online for the GL and Ramp for spend management and continuously look for ways to use these tools (and the AI features in them) to work faster and cleaner.

Work directly with 1000 partner centers on AP and AR exceptions: missing invoices payment timing disputes billing reconciliations and contract interpretation.

Build and maintain the Finance SOP library: who owns each process what the inputs and outputs are and how exceptions are handled.

Define and track Finance KPIs in the Athena format: outcome goals leading indicators SOP adherence and review cadence.

Lead the accounting team through an AP Manager who oversees a team of roughly 10. Coach the AP Manager set priorities and develop people who can solve problems and make decisions inside their scope.

Maintain the financials a payroll-processing entity that operates in MXN. Run payroll and payroll calculations and coordinate with the local tax accountants who handle quarterly and annual tax reporting.

Maintain internal controls and support audit tax and external reporting.

Operate daily in English coordinating with the US executive team and producing Finance documentation SOPs and reporting in English.

Partner with the CFO on cash forecasting expense management and Finance reporting to the executive team.

What You Bring

Controller-level experience: youve owned the monthly close reconciliations and financial reporting end to end (company size matters less than the depth of what you owned).

A solid command of AP/AR cycles and internal controls.

People-management experience youve managed staff directly ideally including managing through a team lead or manager.

Comfort running payroll and working in more than one currency (MXN experience a plus).

Hands-on experience with modern accounting systems and real enthusiasm for AI-enabled finance tools like Ramp rather than wariness of them.

The ability to communicate clearly in English in writing and conversation this is a hard requirement since the role works daily with the US executive team and all Finance documentation is produced in English.

A builders mindset: youd rather create the SOP than work without one.

What Success Looks Like

The monthly close hits the published calendar; variance becomes the exception not the norm.

Finance has a growing set of SOPs in active use with adherence metrics reported alongside outcome KPIs in the Athena format.

AP and AR aging stay within defined targets and partner exceptions get resolved within the cycle in which they appear.

Day-to-day accounting traffic resolves at the Controller level; the heavier strategic calls are made with the CFO.

The function gets steadily stronger and more automated quarter over quarter as you put the modern stack to work.
