Position Overview

A prestigious full-service law firm is seeking an experienced Mergers & Acquisitions Lawyer to join its Corporate and M&A practice in Mexico City.

This opportunity is ideal for a highly motivated attorney with solid transactional experience who is looking to work on sophisticated domestic and cross-border transactions, advising national and international clients across a broad range of industries.

Key Responsibilities

• Advise clients on mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, corporate restructurings, private equity investments, and other strategic transactions.
• Draft, review, negotiate, and manage transaction documents, including share purchase agreements, asset purchase agreements, shareholders' agreements, investment agreements, letters of intent, confidentiality agreements, and ancillary documentation.
• Lead and coordinate legal due diligence processes, identifying legal risks and developing practical solutions.
• Structure and execute complex corporate transactions from inception through closing.
• Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including tax, finance, regulatory, and other practice areas.
• Maintain direct communication with domestic and international clients, providing practical, business-oriented legal advice.
• Support business development initiatives and contribute to maintaining high standards of client service.

Qualifications

• Law degree and admission to practice in Mexico.
• 4 to 9 years of post-qualification experience (PQE) in M&A, Corporate, or Transactional Law at a recognized law firm.
• Strong experience handling domestic and cross-border M&A transactions.
• Proven ability to draft and negotiate sophisticated transaction documents.
• Solid understanding of corporate governance, commercial law, and complex corporate structures.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Fluent English (written and spoken) is mandatory.
• LL.M. or postgraduate degree is considered an advantage.
