Senior Drilling Engineer – Deepwater Operations

A leading international energy company is seeking a Senior Drilling Engineer to lead the planning engineering execution support and post-well evaluation of complex deepwater drilling projects in Mexico. The role covers the full well lifecycle from concept and design through operational execution and closeout with a strong emphasis on safety operational excellence and cost optimization.

What You'll Do

• Develop detailed drilling and well construction programs.
• Design casing programs well trajectories and directional drilling plans.
• Prepare drilling budgets AFEs and cost estimates.
• Participate in HAZID HAZOP DWOP and technical workshops.
• Lead technical evaluations during tendering and support contract management.
• Support offshore drilling operations ensuring safe and efficient execution.
• Monitor drilling performance KPIs and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Prepare End of Well Reports and capture lessons learned for future campaigns.

What We're Looking For

• Engineering degree.
• Minimum 8 years of experience as a Drilling Engineer.
• Proven experience in Deepwater drilling operations.
• Strong knowledge of well planning drilling engineering and operational execution.
• Experience with Landmark software (OpenWells WellPlan WellCat or similar).
• Experience using SAP is desirable.
• Knowledge of Managed Pressure Drilling (MPD) fractured carbonates or pre-salt environments is an advantage.
• Advanced English (written and spoken) is mandatory.
