Tool room & Tool crib Manager

Description

Responsibilities:

• Manage and supervise the daily operations of Tool Room and Tool Crib.
• Ensure the timely availability of tools fixtures and equipment required to support production schedules.
• Manage inventories of cutting tools inserts tool holders gauges fixtures and consumable materials.
• Establish and maintain minimum and maximum inventory levels.
• Coordinate the procurement of tooling equipment and related services.
• Negotiate pricing delivery schedules and technical support agreements with suppliers.
• Supervise tool assembly presetting and preparation for CNC machining centers.
• Monitor and control cutting tool life through tooling management systems and performance analysis.
• Implement tooling optimization programs to reduce costs and improve productivity.
• Develop and maintain tooling databases cutting parameters and tooling specifications.
• Coordinate the repair maintenance and calibration of tooling and measurement equipment.
• Ensure proper identification storage traceability and handling of all tooling assets.
• Provide technical support to Production Manufacturing Engineering and Maintenance departments regarding tooling applications and performance.
• Participate in new product introductions and manufacturing process development activities.
• Lead tooling cost reduction and productivity improvement initiatives.
• Implement continuous improvement methodologies to optimize setup times and tool change processes.
• Monitor and analyze departmental performance metrics.
• Ensure compliance with quality safety and environmental procedures and standards.
• Manage coach and develop personnel within the Tool Room and Tool Crib organization.
• Promote workplace organization and housekeeping through 5S principles.

• Metrology and Calibration
• Precision Machining Processes

Language

• Advance conversational English.

Education

• Bachelors degree in industrial engineering Mechanical Electrical Engineering or a related field.

• Minimum of 5 years of experience managing a Tool Room/ToolCrib department or function.
