Position Summary
A member of the Supply Chain and Logistics team in charge of supporting the implementation of suitable warehousing solutions for LAR and Canada as well as acting as the local point of interaction for shipments to Canada. Able to work on implementing detailed steps of new warehousing facilities for Mexico and Canada, and with third‑party last‑mile transport providers in Canada as the point of contact for international transport and logistics.
Position Responsibilities
- Support the International Supply Chain team in identifying alternatives for warehousing in Mexico and Canada.
- Work with the LARC SC&L Manager to define required level of services, relevant KPIs and connect to defined operational standards for Mexico and Canada warehouses.
- Support definition of key requirements for potential warehouse suppliers.
- Align on key KPIs for evaluating alternate suppliers.
- Support review of RFQ requirements and shortlisting of candidates.
- Lead final round of visiting potential suppliers to decide the final choice.
- After supplier selection, support key steps of the project plan for implementation of the new warehouse and underlying operating mechanism.
- Execute defined transfer steps from current Mexico warehouse to new warehouse.
- Implement transfer of activities from current warehouses to the newly identified ones with set transition steps.
- Liaise with Transport and Logistics manager to ensure flow of SP and FG is switched to flowing via the new warehouses in Canada and Mexico.
- Implement tracking and measurement of external warehousing suppliers’ performance.
- Work with parts planners to effectively switch flows.
- Follow-through shipments flow to LARC in conjunction with Transport and Logistics to lead effective POF.
- Coordinate Canada’s and Mexico’s warehouse and distribution processes by establishing and optimizing work standards for each step to include receiving, sorting, packaging, shipping, cycle counts based inventory checking, and outbound processes to support POF by monitoring KPIs and driving customer satisfaction.
- Coordinate internal and external resources contributing to the warehouse processes, such as capacity, temperature and humidity checks, DG area adequacy, resources planning to support POF and inventory control and optimal turnover.
- Coordinate and supervise stock count activities and compliant stock control activities; ensure inventory management steps, inventory checks and potential discrepancies are reported and analyzed for corrective action definition and implementation.
- Interface with procurement, sales, and logistics to address abnormal issues in the warehouse and distribution process (such as delays in booking in stock, incorrect deliveries, loading processes) and ensure they are under review.
- Ensure daily review and updates to COS supporting adequate communication to customers regarding the status of shipping orders.
- Handle defects review linked to warehouse and distribution process (such as damaged packaging, quantity discrepancies, delivery delays, etc.), coordinate internal resources to quickly follow up and resolve issues.
- Lead development of warehouse SOPs to reflect overall requirements and supervise SOPs utilization.
- Monitor and optimize warehouse costs; enhance overall operational efficiency of warehouse.
Required Skills & Education
Education / Background:
- Engineering (Industrial, Systems, Supply Chain & Logistics)
- Business Administration, International Business / International Trade
Experience:
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in a similar role
Language:
- Advanced / fluent English (C1 level)
Additional Requirements:
- Proven experience in implementing warehouse setup
- Project management skills: ability to interact with logistics providers and potential service providers to align operational mechanism to needs
- Effective handling of the information flow with key operational contacts, internal and external
- SAP Order-to-Cash knowledge, Advanced Excel user (pivot, lookup, logical formulas)
- Fluent in English both spoken and written; knowledge of French for Canadian customers is a plus
- Lean and 6 Sigma oriented with a good knowledge of main quality tools (process map, root cause analysis) – 6 Sigma certification is a plus
- Ability and availability to travel regularly to Canada & Mexico warehouse facilities to ensure seamless supervision of warehouse operations
- Valid Canadian visa or eligibility for a Canadian eTA
- Availability for international travel
